We are a small native plant nursery in Silver Spring, MD. We care very deeply about biodiversity and the environment. This is reflected in our procedures. We do not spray pesticides unless it is for the health of the plant and discarding the plant instead is an option. There is an enormous amount of pressure to spray pesticides to offer plants that are picture perfect. Monarchs have declined. Pollinators have declined. Birds have declined. We are in the sixth mass extinction. We avoid pesticides as much as possible with the hope that we can have healthy ecosystems and a healthy planet. Ask us about our procedures. We take full advantage of parasitoids, beneficial insects, and sticky traps. Caterpillars found in the nursery are moved to stock plants on other parts of our small property. We truly care!
